This webcam sits atop one of the buildings on the campus of the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS), located on Virginia Key. The webcam faces the Bear Cut Bridge, which connects Virginia Key to the island of Key Biscayne. The Bear Cut Bridge is part of the Rickenbacker Causeway, which is the only road connecting mainland Miami to Key Biscayne. In the picture immediately below, Virginia Key is in the foreground, and Key Biscayne is in the background. The main RSMAS buildings face Biscayne Bay on the south side of the Rickenbacker Causeway. Murphy lives in one of the tall condominium buildings in the distance. The Cape Florida Lighthouse (not visible) sits adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean in Bill Baggs State Park, located to the south of Murphy's home.
